COHORT 22 – Current Secondary Education Students
Activities on the Horizon:
- Summer Courses – June 21-Aug 5: Capstone, School Law & Professional Workshops are classes offered throughout the summer.
- Licensing– Upon the conclusion of the student teaching semester and with all other items address, candidates may apply for their teaching license through DPI.
- Finals Conference, Aug 2 or 4th: Students will present a summary of their Master’s project to the public.
- Graduation, Aug 4th: We will gather for a Graduation Ceremony to celebrate the achievements of the Class of 2022. Informal, in-person reception to follow.
COHORT 23 –Prospective Secondary Education Students
Activities on the Horizon:
- Rolling Application Review– At the end of each month applications will be considered for the upcoming cohort as space allows. Final review to be done in May, 2022
- Scholarship application– The WiSH system is accepting applications. DUE DATE: March 1.
- Monthly Live Q&A’s: Virtual sessions will be held through the spring to support candidates’ preparation for their start in Summer 2022. (More details below)
- Background Check’s -Due April 20: A condition of admittance is that each candidate must have a background check completed.
- Program Preparation– throughout May: Surveys, registration and modules will be shared with candidates in preparation for the start of the program.
- Program Orientation: Tuesday, June 7, 2022 (and June 9) Additional information and times will be available as the date approaches.
- First Day of Classes: Monday, June 13, 2022
LIVE Q&A Sessions- for incoming students
Secondary Education staff and other representatives from UW service will host a series of session to address topics and questions about the program, process, documents and resources available. Each session will be arranged around a theme and offer comments from relevant UW staff members. There will be time for discussion and questions from candidates.

Secondary Education Finals Conference
Thursday, August 5 or 7, 2022, the sensational seventh cohort of teacher candidates from the Dept of Curriculum and Instruction’s Secondary Education Program will present their final Master’s projects.
